Kinds of Reading and Issues of Their Teaching Methodology

Abstract
One of the most important problems of teaching a foreign language – issues of reading teaching methodology – is analysed in the article. Reading is approached as a linguistic activity. The authors distinguish three kinds of reading and discuss their main features, requirements for educational means and work methods. Requirements for texts, construction of texts and language are analysed in the article. The authors present methodological recommendations for reading teaching which are based on studies of scientific – methodological literature and have been tested in practical work.
