Gender Differences of Senior Pupils in Planning Studies

Abstract


The choice of university studies is one of the most important decisions which has an impact on future life quality of a person. This decision should be well-thought-out and well-founded. However, the choice of future profession depends on gender. Different social roles, social attitude, norms and stereotypes are strong attributes of social environment. The article is based on survey data and deals with a problem of future university studies choice of high school pupils and differences depending on gender. The thesis of the article is based on a statement that both techers and pupils segment the professions into “feminine” and “masculine”.
