Theoretical Analysis of Understanding the Text in a Foreign Language

Abstract


The article contains the examination of the important problem of teaching the foreign languages. The theoretical interpretation and understanding of the text consist of two components: perceptive comprehension of the text and semantic decoding of the text contents. The author underlines that for understanding of the text the linguistic and extralinguistic elements; quantity of information, its presentation, visual aids are of the particular importance. The speech competency of the reader is also accented in the work. The article is useful in both theoretical and practical aspects.
